Affirmation Secrets - How to Hold to Your Affirmations and Keep on Living in the Now

Affirmation Secrets - How to Hold to Your Affirmations and Keep on Living in the Now

Lots of people really become very committed to their affirmations. They speak the affirmations in the morning when they awake. They speak the affirmations at night before they fall asleep. You can hear them speaking the affirmations at every moment - in the shower, while they cook and when they are walking the dog. Day in day out the affirmations are right there on the front of their minds. Some people even turn the affirmations into a sort of chant that continues on all day long. Sounds like a winning formula to me.

Well, it is, sort of. Affirmations work best when repeated many times over and over. This repetition helps the inner mind change and fall in line with whatever it is you are focusing on. Over time the repeating of the affirmations will change how you think about your desired outcome and in turn change how you feel, behave and the decisions you make. What tends to happen with hyper- affirming, like described above, is that the person who is doing the affirming becomes paralyzed with their current life situation. Sometimes the affirmations turn into an intense desire that cancels out whatever is happening right now. It is as if the person starts to hibernate, waiting until the affirmation comes to pass.

As mentioned, affirmations work best when repeated over and over - but not over and over all day long! The purpose of affirming is to slowly change your inner perceptions about your life - not to blot out your current life situation. Affirming all day long will not help you get to your goal faster. It will put you in automatic mode - you need your mind working, not on mute!

Affirmations work best when your mind is impressionable:

1. First thing in the morning while you are getting awake.
2. Last thing at night when you are falling asleep.
3. During meditation or journaling.
4. While walking alone and enjoying the outdoors.
5. During a visualization time (some do this while meditating).
6. When you are feeling bombarded with thoughts of fear regarding not achieving your affirmation. At these times let the affirmations rip fast and furious to get yourself back in balance.

You will find that affirming three or four times a day is sufficient if you are focused while you are doing the affirming. As mentioned in number six keep the affirmations flowing if you are feeling overwhelmed with fear. At these times the chanting method is actually quite helpful. Remember to turn it off and come back to reality once your feel back in line with your desired outcome.

Other than that go live your life - the one you have right now. Your affirmations will come to pass over time as your inner self becomes more aligned with what you are affirming. Racing through affirmations over and over all day long will only prevent you from seeing what is perfect in your life right now - and keep you focused away from your current reality which you need to attend to if you want it to become something else.

25 Self Esteem Affirmations For a Healthier You and a Healthier Self Image

25 Self Esteem Affirmations For a Healthier You and a Healthier Self Image

So many of us want to feel more comfortable with ourselves and how we fit with the world. Some of us are just a little shy and some of us have a lot of work to do when it comes to a healthy self esteem. Whether your issues have arisen from a dysfunctional childhood or some other incident it really does not matter.

The key is to desire to be healthy and have a great self image. Affirmations are a great way to gently move you in the direction of being ok with yourself and ready to get on with living.

Since there might be some leftover dysfunctions from childhood or other traumatic incidents clearing yourself is the place you want to start. Use this clearing affirmation first, before you start with your self esteem affirmations.

"I am open to loving myself."

Remember, you are not saying you love yourself - which may be a stretch for some. You are saying you are open to loving yourself. There is a big difference and for those who are struggling with healthy self esteem the idea of loving yourself might be something that you need to slowly get comfortable with.

If you find yourself cringing a little when you affirm: "I am open to loving myself." just stick with this affirmation for awhile. Try repeating this affirmation statement in the morning and at night for a few weeks. Even if you are not sincere at the beginning, if you stick with it you will notice your shell will begin to soften.
Once you become OK with 'being open to loving yourself' proceed with these healing self esteem affirmations.

1. I am fine just the way I am.
2. I am open to finding MY perfect body, whatever that may be.
3. I am open to finding MY perfect life, whatever that may be.
4. I am open to finding my way in my own time and at my own pace.
5. I am able to take care of myself.
6. I am safe.
7. I am free to make my own decisions.
8. I release myself to make healthy decisions.
9. I release my parents and my past.
10. I forgive myself for mistakes I have made in the past.
11. I forgive those from my past who have hurt me.
12. I chose to come here; it is OK that I am here. I want to be here.
13. I came to this earth to strive, prosper and be healthy.
14. I am open to receiving help and healing from others.
15. I am open to trusting people.
16. I am open to finding solutions for my problems.
17. I am open to seeing my problems from a healing perspective.
18. I am open to making changes in my life so I can become healthy.
19. I am important to me. I am committed to taking care of myself.
20. I love myself just the way I am.
21. I like being with myself.
22. I appreciate being me.
23. I like it when others appreciate me and pay attention to me.
24. I am open to having great friends that I can spend my life with.
25. Everything is OK, right now.

I know fixing a damaged self image is not easy and you will have to work at it if you really want to come out on the other side a more functional person. The rewards will astonish you if stick with it. Your life will be a lot easier too! If you need help ask a trusted friend to say these self esteem affirmations with you and to help you keep on track.

Remember to use the clearing affirmation to start:
"I am open to loving myself."

It will really help you to get on your way and be more comfortable saying the other self esteem affirmations. After awhile you will find your place in the world - whatever and where ever that may be. Take your time and be ok with whatever pace you find yourself moving at. There is no hurry and know you will find your way when you are ready.

Secrets to Releasing Negative Self Talk

Learning to control the negative self talk that's robbing you of your enthusiasm for life can unleash your potential to live a life full of endless possibilities.

Focus - What you focus on plays a definite role in what you allow yourself to believe is possible for you. It also plays a definite role in what you're attracting into your life. If you find yourself constantly focusing on the negative things in your life then you are attracting more negative things to come into your life. By learning to focus on the good things in your life you create a better environment to manifest the life you dream of.

Your Story - The story you tell yourself about what you deserve in life is what you begin to believe. Whether you tell yourself that you're capable and deserving or incapable and undeserving, you're going to be right. What do you want to be right about? Tell yourself the story you want to live.

Replace - When you find yourself having a negative thought about yourself you have the option to not finish it. Cut the negative thought off and replace it with a more powerful positive thought. This may take a little work at first, but in a short period of time it will become natural process you welcome into your positive lifestyle.

Be A Friend - How do you treat your friends? If they make a mistake do you call them on it? Do you belittle them for not being perfect? No! And it's time to stop doing it to yourself. Decide to treat yourself with the same respect and positive encouragement you would treat your friends. If you would pat them on the back for trying, do the same for yourself. Be your own best friend and discover the feeling of being proud of your accomplishments.

Journaling - By writing your thoughts down on paper you will begin to realize just how destructive negative self talk is on your happiness. You will see a visual account of your positive and negative thoughts and have the ability to better recognize which thoughts you need to find replacements for and which thoughts you need to pay more attention to.

Create - Be constantly aware of what you want to create in your life. Choose the emotions and attitudes that are present in your life. Focus on the present moment and let the past be the past and the future be the future. Your life originates in your mind first. What you consistently think about is what you create. So, create the life you want to live.

Energy - Decide to stop wasting your energy on negative thoughts and unproductive thinking. In your mind it is a thought, but in your body it steals precious positive energy you require to live an abundant life. Demand the positive energy that will brighten your day and over time change the way you live your life.

Gratitude - There is no better way to attract positivity into your life than to be grateful for the good things you already have in your life. Spend some time daily thinking about the things that you presently have to be grateful for.

Invite - Each day wake up and verbally invite positivity to be a part of your life. Get excited and say out loud what you demand of the day. Jump up and down and empower the positive vibration to become the driving force in your day.

Demand - Don't just hope that you can release the negative self talk, Demand It! Make a conscious decision to negate your negative self-talk and replace it with positive thinking.

Get busy and release your negative self talk once and for all. Allow yourself to invite the happiness you deserve to manifest in your life. And demand that your life be overflowing with positive outcomes.
